What’s new
Every release of Captions Cut, newest first. The current version is 1.1.0, on the App Store and at captionscut.com/edit.
1.1.0: The web editor, sign-in and credit packs on the web
- Caption a clip in your browser at captionscut.com/edit: the clip stays in the browser, only the audio is sent for transcription, and the captioned video is rendered and downloaded on your device.
- Sign in with Apple or Google, in the app or on the site, so credits and Pro follow you between iPhone and the web.
- Credit packs can be bought on the web as well as in the app.
- The editor keeps each clip's poster with the project and fits captions to the stage more reliably.
1.0.0: First release on the App Store
- Word-by-word animated captions from the speech in a clip, with the spoken word highlighted as it is said.
- 53 spoken languages plus Auto detect; 48 caption styles; 137 open-licence fonts.
- Every word editable: fix the text, nudge the timing, split or merge lines.
- Caption translation into a second language, shown under the first, with Pro.
- Export to Photos in 1080p or 4K. Captions stay inside the safe area of Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
- Pay per second of audio: 1 credit covers 1 second. Credit packs never expire.
